Home Improvement lasted for 8 seasons on ABC and the third season by far is one of the best seasons I've ever seen a long time! The best episode IMO would have to be the part where Tim and Bob compete for the third and final time on the show. Also the best episode would have to be the 5th anniversary of "Tool Time!" I like Home IMprovement and it will be the best of all time!

Another great season of Home Improvement is here, here in this season is where it begins to take off with some great episodes such as the halloween episode crazy for you when tim thinks there a fan stalking him and dream on where al's girlfriend has a romantic dream of tim and reel man where al and tim go fishing, and many more . plus heidi is introduced in this season.anyway here are the rest of the episodes from season 3

Maybe Baby: Jill discovers that her sister is having a baby girl and wishes that she could have a baby girl . rating 4.5/5

Aisle see you in my dreams: Jill fixes Al up with a date(Ilene) rating 4.5/5

This joke's for you: Tim installs a intercom in the house then heres Randy making fun of him RATING 4.5/5

caulking gun. This was so easy we should have done the bath sink over 10 yrs ago when we moved in. Prev. owner had set a new sink into cabinet - Never cleaning the crud from counter top and then sealing with a clear - may be able to locate a pic of that - will add pic of new -

Following pre-clean/ application and drying instructions makes it look like a Pro did this.

Never disappointed in any Red Devil* products.

Not as good as the do-it-yourself book, April 8, 2005

First off, I do want to say that this is not a negative review - I think the book is okay, but fairly limited. A far better book is the do-it-yourself book (by the same author). My reasons for recommending this book are based on the number of times I have found useful information when needed. I often pulled the fix-it-yourself book off the bookshelf without being helped, while the do-it-yourself book frequently gave me what I needed to know. I very rarely pull the fix-it-yourself book out anymore.

Note - there is a new edition of the do-it-yourself book out, and amazon will not pull it up first. The new edition is even cheaper.

Great guide to all types of help, October 5, 1998

I loved this book! I am a single female, and my dad bought it for me when I bought my first house. Now I'm going to buy it for a friend who just bought a house himself.

Just this weekend alone I fixed my ice maker and my garbage disposal using the book as a guide.

The pictures are great, and the language is easy to understand. I'd recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a great fix-it book.

I liked this show, but the family values issues did get on my nerves a lot, and how Jill (the wife) would always jump down Tim's back about the littlest things - it seemed.

The neighbor, Wilson, was pretty cool, always with some wise information for Tim and the others. And this first season, possibly the next one too, had Pamela Anderson in it as the Tool Time girl. Here's a description of the episodes on this set:

"Pilot" - Tim wrecks the dishwasher, while trying to give it more power; Jill gets a job interview
"Mow Better Blues" - Mark breaks a tool of Tim's, which Jill was told to stay away from
"Off Sides" - Tim hires a magician as a babysitter
"Satellite on a Hot Tim's Roof" - Tim installs a satellite dish; one of Jill's teachers visits
"Wild Kingdom" - Tim hears some weird noises in the basement
"Adventures in Fine Dining" - Tim bets Jill that he can teach their kids some table manners
"Nothing More Than Feelings" - Tim tells his Tool Time audience that his wife drove with the oil light on; the other guys say that their wives don't respect their tools
"Flying Sauces" - The K & B Construction guys show how to make hot gourmet meals while on the job, on Tool Time; Brad and Randy tell Mark that Brad, Randy, and their parents are aliens
"Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble" - Tim puts another sink in their bathroom
"Reach Out and Teach Someone" - Tim does a Tool Time episode for women to teach plumbing; Brad worries that he's going to do bad on a test at school

So buy this set, my favorite segments were always the Tool Time scenes of the episodes. There should be an option of the DVDs to view only the Tool Time scenes, oh well.

Does Everybody Know What Time It Is?, August 18, 2004

I've only recently started to watch Home Improvement in syndication for the first time, and as soon as I got into it it has become one of my favourite sitcoms. The humoar is very original and the concept was very bright and fresh when it came along on ABC in 1991.
It wasn't just that that made it one of the most popular shows of the 90's, it was also the strengh of the characters. Tim Allen's portrayel of accident proned chauvanistic tool man Tim Taylor helps make the show along with his sidekick Al, wife Jill and three kids Brad, Randy and Mark.

This show also provided more realism than a lot of other shows of its kind, for example the relationship between the boys and their regular fighting seems a lot more true to life than other shows that often represent people as constantly loving and everything always patched up by the end of the show. Home Improvement still has many tender moments that are always well acted.

As well as the 24 episodes on this DVD set, you also get a gag reels of jokes from the show and a commentary by the creators. It's good to see that a lot of these sets now have extras and that the companies are going to the trouble of adding nice touches to the tv shows we know and love.

So overall, this set is one that you should definetly add to your collection, whether you want to re-discover the classic first season once again or watch this show for the first time and introduce it to your family who may not have been around then; either way you are very unlikely to be diassapointed! "I don't think so Tim!"
Highly recommended!

A great new homeowner starter book!, October 5, 1999

I just bought this book and really love it. It's simple and easy to understand, and considering that I have never done much home repair before, this was a plus. It's the hammer and nail equivilent to that Betty Crocker cookbook we've all be hauling around for years. Always something new that you never knew you needed!

We recently purchased an old home with lots of "problems". I borrowed this book from my local library (along with Black & Decker's Home Improvement) and was amazed at how clear and detailed it was. I think the best part is how they use real photos of everything, and not sketches. There are well over 2000 photos. Within days, I was dealing with and solving basement issues, plumbing problems, electrical outlets, and many more things that I did not even thing of. The books helped so much that I decided to go ahead and purchase them here on Amazon. There are countless home improvement books out there and some rank better than others. From what I've seen, the Black & Decker series ranks at the top and are an invaluable resource. It literally pays for itself with all the money saving tips and instructions. I recommend this book, along with Black & Decker's Home Improvement and Outdoor to anyone looking to save money on home repairs.

There are certain skills that are "wasted" on no one. Home repair is one such skill. I believe that 5 weeks after purchasing this book - the book has already paid for itself. My parents moved back into my grandmother's 1960-era house after she passed away last year. The house was in need of a few repairs, but money was a limiting factor. I had to find a way to teach myself (and my dad) how to weatherproof the basement, replacing an ancient water heater & dishwasher, replace several outlets with new GFCI (p. 397!) outlets, and finally, how to update the upstair's faucets and fixtures. I logged onto Amazon.com and typed-in HOME REPAIR. To be honest, I chose this book because it had 500+ pages and two 5-star reviews. When this book arrived, I instantly felt the weight and quality of the binding.(think college textbook material) I quickly found DETAILED descriptions of the tasks I would soon have to perform. I called my father and said "Get ready we're going to Home Depot!" On the phone, my father expressed concern over our lack of experience. When my father got in my truck, I handed him the the Black&Decker text. I had put PostIt's on the pages with our projects. He slipped on his glasses and peered through his bi-focals and didn't say a word on the way to purchase tools & supplies. Once in the parking lot, I could hardly turn-off the engine before he was pointing to pictures saying "Ours looks just like this! I want some gloves like that!" And he was making a bee-line for the door!(the old man can move!) He was excited and so was I. Now, it has beeen 5 weeks since that first trip to Home Depot. Both my father and I have the cuts and scrapes and the ever present sore backs to prove that we have done our own home repairs. My father now keeps the Black&Decker text at his house "for safe keeping." He cleans the text with a moist cloth after each project. The projects don't seem to have an end in sight, which I believe is a direct result of my dad reading the text for "suggestions." My suggestion....don't let anyone "borrow" this text, unless of course - you love him!
